safety. There is virtually always a
nearly identical federal law.

Gonad
Shielding WAC
246-225-020(2)(f)
Gonad shielding must
be used if:
 |
the patient has
childbearing potential |
 |
the gonads are in the
primary beam |
 |
Unless:
shielding would interfere with the diagnostic
yield of the film. |
Collimation WAC
246-225-060

you must either have PBL (automatic collimation),
or |
 |
a border of collimation must show on at least 3 sides of
each film |
Grids:
correct focal distance WAC
246-225-020(2)(k)
 |
grids must have a sticker that clearly indicates the
focal distance for which the grid is to be used

 |
grids must only be used at their proper focal range |
Posting an
exposure
technique chart is required WAC

 |
the chart shall specify patient size, exposure values,
SID, and shielding |
Logging

Chiropractic x-ray
technicians must be licensed by CQAC before taking x-rays

decision, CQAC ruled that the doctor does not have to be personally
present in
the office when the x-rays are produced, as long as the doctor was the
one who
ordered the x-rays.)
Chiropractic
assistants cannot perform orthopedic and neurologic tests

Records retention

x-rays must be transferred on loan to another
